Interactive Tables

You can use the search form to find interactive tables, but their nature can be illustrated by referring you to have a look at a 'traditional' HTML Table for Cover Crops on the FAO Conservation Agriculture Website and then comparing this FAO version with the same data in an EcoPort interactive table.

The first column in the Interactive Table contains (a) the data in the original FAO Table to which (b) two links to (i) > 500 common names and (ii) about 1,000 pictures in EcoPort have been added. Because EcoPort (the 'engine' of the CA hub), is a relational database, data such as 500 common names 'become' 500 ways of searching for information, and, of course, tables and species records and many other 'entities' are cross-indexed, thereby enabling cross-referenced searching.
