The items in the search panel function like this:

Reference ID: refers to the unique ID number assigned to every object or item in EcoPort. This ID number plays an important role in the syntax of the EcoPort Hypertext Language.

Contributor ID: is a search field that makes provision to find sets of references by the name of the person who loaded the data; i.e. A person other than the original author of the publication.

Year range: enables search confinement to find only items that were published between two dates that can be specified by the user.

Author name: is a search field that makes provision to find sets of references by name of the original author of the publication.

Title: refers to a search box where words suspected to be in publication titles could be entered and activated as search terms.

Keyword: allows and enables searches that use personal keywords that authors apply as tags to identify their 'own' or other people's reference records. They make it possible to assemble virtual sets of references clustered to serve a specific, grouping function.

Download as text files: refers to a assembly and display functionality that exports a found set of references in Tab-delimited, plain ASCII format for convenient importation into other databases or citation management software packages such as End Note among others.
